A stabilizer or anti-twist arm, as it is also known, is an element designed to hold the tower at a certain height to prevent movement due to strong wind currents.

Unlike a flange (which is held at one point on each side of the tower), a stabilizer is held at 2 points per side; i.e., at the same height, it will be held at 6 points, which prevents excessive twisting in the tower and provides better structural rigidity.

When should a stabilizer be installed?

A stabilizer is not a required piece when assembling a tower. Generally, a stabilizer is installed when:

- There is a large wind-load antenna (equal to or greater than 1 m in diameter).

- When there are strong winds due to terrain conditions.

- In high-precision wireless links.

It is recommended to replace the installation of a flange when adding a stabilizer, since we must remember that the more cables we attach to the tower, the heavier it will be and the more load we will be placing on the ground.
