Scorpion allows for testing smoke detectors in elevator shafts, large warehouses, shopping centers, airports, continuous operation areas like the manufacturing industry, areas with restricted access, etc., making testing fast, precise, and efficient while reducing the costs of testing hard-to-reach smoke detectors, whether it is a point detector or an Aspirating Smoke Detection (ASD) system.
The Scorpion head unit is a smoke generator that is permanently installed next to a detector and, during the test, generates smoke for a functional test of the device.
The Scorpion system has a built-in transport time timer to help assess the continued integrity of the ASD system from the end of the pipe to the detector itself. A purge function is used to clear smoke from point detectors and reduce the possibility of repeat alarms, increasing on-site productivity.
Scorpion can be adapted to existing systems or installed with new ones. Each head unit has a testing capacity of over 240 tests of 15 seconds of smoke each. Up to 8 Scorpion heads can be connected to a single wall-mounted control panel, or for fewer detectors in multiple locations using access points along with the engineer's controller.
